As a Tech Lead you are someone who takes ownership and makes an impact by the operating with mindset, integrity, and courage of a start-up business. And then tempering that mindset with an understanding of how a large organisation works and the acceptable risks to ensure the software developed has the uptime and the performance expected by our customers.
You will play a key role in the success of the organisation and will lead a team who are responsible for continually improving the company’s application performance. You will work towards the successful execution of high impact projects.
We expect you to be able to view challenges from many different perspectives and create and drive strategies and solutions that are not only technically sound, but also include regulatory, commercial, and organisational aspects when appropriate.
We are looking for an experienced individual with a strong background in full stack software development, and cloud technologies, with the ability to lead and guide a multi-disciplinary tech team to deliver robust software that delights our customers.
- Shape work for self and team, guiding the team to produce their deliverables as well as contributing to the codebase themselves
- Communicate complex technical solutions to business stakeholders and interpret business requirements into technical specifications
- Working with other teams/disciplines to design and implement e2e solutions including cloud hosting, Kubernetes, tooling, QA, release and change
- Ability to design, implement, and deploy cloud-native solutions
- Proven hands-on experience configuring and running K8s clusters on various platforms (on premise and cloud).
- Identify designs to mitigate potential points of failure in the Front end and API layer that comply with the clients toolset, development and architectural guidelines
- Ensure Angular pattern libraries are re-used wherever possible
- Work with the security team to drive robust standards
- Strive for zero downtime when deploying solutions/services
- Develop and own processes/procedures for scaling, capacity planning, configuration management, monitoring, etc.
- Drive automation and ensure high-quality monitoring coverage

What experience you'll bring:
- Leadership & Management: Oversee and guide a team of engineers or developers, ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Technical Expertise: Provide deep technical knowledge and hands-on support in areas such as Angular development, DevOps, Node MSA
- Project Management: Coordinate with other departments to align technical efforts with business goals, manage project timelines, and ensure resource allocation.
- Innovation & Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and technologies used by the team.
- Mentorship: Support the professional growth of team members through coaching, training, and performance reviews.
- Hands-on demonstrable experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Expertise in MSA on GCP
- Good understanding of working with Node.js, able to explain the programming methodologies like asynchronous and non- blocking concepts.
- Track record of design and implementation of sophisticated screens and dashboards using Angular
- Knowledge of FE performance and accessibility concerns
- Good understanding of working with REST API, HTTP and its principles
- Design and develop API specifications using OpenAPI Specifications/YAML.
- Good understanding of Testing frameworks and working with Unit and functional tests, eg automation tool like Cypress as well as API testing tools
- Good understanding of security aspects like CSRF, CORS and managing Cookies. Knowledge of implementation of AuthN and AuthZ via OAuth 2, OIDC, etc.
- Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes and working with these technologies.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with SQL or NoSQL database
- Solid knowledge of APIGEE, API, Back End server components and performance optimization

The Candidates Ideal Background:
- Strong full stack experience and extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is critical to being successful in this role
- Demonstrable experience of working with and getting the best out of technical teams and driving quality, ensuring tech debt is kept to a minimum
- 6+ years working with Angular (Angular 17 preferred) in a structured environment driving re-use of components
- 6+ Years of Node JS development preferably for an ecommerce platform
- 6+ Years working with Enterprise CI/CD pipelines (GitLab experience is preferred)
- Experience in modern engineering languages and computer science fundamentals, platforms (containers, serverless, no-code), frameworks and creating simple and robust platforms.
- Demonstrated passion for details, and both day over day improvements and long-term outlook.
- Industry experience at fast moving, innovative global technology companies.
- Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline with strong academic credentials.
