Strategic Bid Manager
Sales, London

The team you'll be working with:

Our Public Services team has achieved some of the largest growth across NTT Data UK, and this position represents a key role within this business unit. NTT is an agile, innovative, and extremely people-focused company; it feels like a start-up but with serious backing and has the reputation of exceptional end-to-end solutions.

What you'll be doing:

In this role, your primary focus will be on driving the successful execution of strategic bids.  This will involve working closely with the PS leadership team, Sub-Sector Leads and sales community to qualify, plan and prioritise strategic bids.  You will also establish and nurture productive relationships with wider stakeholders, including service lines and partners.

Your role will ensure that best practice methods are applied to strategic PS bids including bid planning, win strategy, partnering, storyboarding, price to win and content reviews.  You’ll leverage your understanding of PS frameworks and buyer trends to optimise our approach in areas such as social value, sustainability and added value.

In this role, you will be instrumental in developing effective solutions and innovative, winning proposals. This involves working closely with leadership, sales teams, and service lines to ensure that completed bids are perfectly tailored to client requirements across public services. Your responsibilities will include providing written input with a commercial and sales-oriented focus for PQQs, RFIs, RFPs, ITTs, and Framework responses.  You will lead teams through the formal bid approval and governance processes, ensuring that submissions receive the correct level of approval. Additionally, you will conduct lessons-learned sessions following bids, using these insights to continuously improve the approach to bids, frameworks, sales materials, and presentations.

What experience you'll bring:

Our successful candidate will be an experienced Bid Manager who has worked on multiple strategic deals within the Public Sector, in the range of £10m - £50m, and has a proven track record of winning bids of this scale.  A strong appreciation of latest trends in Government procurement strategy and in-depth knowledge of PS frameworks is also required.

To excel in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling you to work effectively across different geographies. Strong people skills are essential, as you will be collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across all levels of the business. Proficiency in written English is also crucial.  You must be able to work to deadlines and under pressure, thriving in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment while driving towards clarity and solutions.

Effective prioritisation skills are necessary to manage your workload efficiently. You should have a deep knowledge and insight of products and services, backed by previous bid management experience. A demonstrable track record in developing winning bids and experience in working across multiple sectors is required.  Technical skills in Microsoft Office and the use of modern technologies for producing high-quality proposals are also important. Your ability to combine these skills and experiences will be key to your success in this role.
