What you'll be doing:

NTT DATA UK is looking for a SDET/Automation QA to join our growing practice.

The role requires a collaborative individual who is confident with communication and proactive sharing, pairing and developing test code alongside the developer team.  The role will require design, implementation and integration of testing frameworks for APIs, microservices and front ends.  Working with the development team to build on existing Open Source frameworks to establish testing fixtures which are fit to deliver the objectives of the project.

You will be primarily responsible for:

  • Implement frameworks to test APIs, microservices and JS based front ends
  • Implement appropriate engineering practices and tooling for continuous delivery and testing
  • Identifying test scenarios and coding appropriate test cases and selection of data conditions to enable thorough test coverage
  • Developing best practice test automation strategies through developing automated tests at the correct level Unit, Integration, UI
  • Collaborating with other team members, particularly developers and analysts to ensure common comprehension of requirements, estimation of test complexity during planning sessions and delivery of testable code.

What you'll need:

In order to be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in and a solid understanding of most of the following:

  • Opinionated, able to rely on existing framework knowledge to select the best approach to testing each layer of the architecture
  • Advocate of clean coding principles
  • Excellent analysis and problem solving skills.  Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Integration of testing frameworks with modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Experienced in OOP with Java coding background, strong on clean coding, SOLID etc.
  • Experience with Selenium and mocking frameworks
  • Ideally some experience with testing of JavaScript based front ends
  • Ideally working within AWS and containerised environment

Education and Experience

  • SC Cleared or Residency in the UK for the past 5 years (ideally British Passport Holder)
  • Experienced in consulting and ability to cope with pressured environments.
  • Ideally Public Sector/Central Government experience
  • Confident communicator
  • Experience in design, implementation and integration of testing frameworks
  • Demonstrable whole lifecycle, project experience
