What you'll be doing:

As a Commercial Manager you will play a key supporting role in providing commercial services, devising, supporting and implementing strategies to meet the needs of our fast-paced business and customers.  This role supports all of our public and private sector customers across multiple sectors, including Telecommunications, Media, Insurance, Banking, Manufacturing, Automotive, Retail, Pharmaceutical, Energy, Central and Local Government and other public service sectors

The focus of your role will be to facilitate the transaction of good business in long and medium term programmes – from contract changes, tracking services levels and key performance indicators, commercial governance meetings, negotiations with customers, assisting project teams through the conclusion of contract delivery, as well as recognising opportunities for new business. You will support own the management of contractual and commercial matters. 

The role expects you to support account / business teams on proposals, pricing, contractual items, negotiations and dealing with contract management issues. You’ll use your knowledge and experience to identify commercial risks and opportunities and devise appropriate mitigations. You’ll coach and/or engage with other teams to enhance the commercial solution.

What you'll need:

  • Improving commercial consistency and performance with key customers
  • Formulating, negotiating and obtaining approval for contractual terms and conditions, work orders and pricing
  • Supporting or leading standard contract negotiations with customers and suppliers, with a view to flowing down/up terms and risk between all parties
  • Supporting the implementation of the pricing policy and ensure business adherence through core processes
  • Supporting the implementation of the IP strategy including protection and exploitation of company’s IPR in commercial transactions
  • Establishing key customer and supplier relationships at contractual level
  • Developing, rationalising and implementing the processes required to make the commercial function more efficient and effective
  • Supporting commercial aspects of bids, helping to build a commercial offer that balances the need to maximise the businesses competitive position whilst achieving an acceptable contractual outcome
  • Commercial management of key high value long term customer contracts, developing and implementing processes for reporting on key metrics
  • Developing the contract management function across the accounts and wider business
  • Ensuring contract compliance through obligations and deliverables management
  • Providing accurate and informed contract analysis and recommendations to support decision making
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, and devise appropriate mitigations
  • Implementing the commercial strategy
  • Managing contracts in accordance with guidelines, regulations and approvals
  • Providing experience, commercial advice and support to the account team
  • Liaising closely with Finance, Legal and other functions
