NTT DATA UK is looking for a SC Cleared Tech Business Analyst to join our growing practice specifically focussed on the Law Enforcement/Security services domain.
A Business Analyst is a member of a product/application development team who analyses the business domain, documents its processes and systems, and outlines business, functional and non-functional requirements.
The BA is key member of the team who communicates between stakeholders, developers and QA and is particularly critical to ensure that everyone is informed and to establish what the requirements are and to ensure everyone within the project understands them.
• Participating and sometimes lead key agile ceremonies such as user story refinement and design workshops and solution exercises, documenting requirements and proposed solutions
• Collaborating with Business teams to review and understand the business needs and shaping those as functional requirements
• Analyse and document the impact of potential solutions/changes on existing processes and organizational structures
• Effectively approach problem solving by identifying gaps and inefficiencies in current processes, procedures, and operating models, and recommending/designing an optimal future state
• Participate and/or lead in project design workshops and solution exercises, document requirements, and proposed solutions
• Document requirements as high level epics and lower level user stories and maintain traceability between these
• Able to identify acceptance scenarios using business knowledge gained in workshops with customer stakeholders
• Work closely with the engineering teams to ensure that all functional requirements are developed into fully functional business ready systems/applications
• Collaborate closely with other organisations both client and 3rd party
• Excellent Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills required.
• Excellent Stakeholder management, Oral and written communication skills, Interpersonal and consultative skills.
• Understanding of data mapping. Be able to understand and document the as-is and to-be state of data for an interface. Ability to understand the data transformation needs, and assess data quality and suitability.
• Ability to create good working relationships with customer stakeholders. Skills like active listening and the ability to build rapport with experienced public sector SMEs are essential.
• The ability to produce process documentation including process maps, flow diagrams, requirement specifications, functional designs, and features stories etc. following sector/industry standard modelling approaches
• Defining feature behaviour using BDD approach
• Creating a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions for a business.
• Agile analysis process as a component of agile software delivery
• Working with UX/UI Designers to align business requirements, user research and visual design
• Quality Management (Root Cause Analysis etc.)
• Understanding of the overall SDLC, and how multiple teams can work together in parallel to deliver the overall solution. Ability to identify and raise risks and dependencies in the delivery plan.
• Understanding of relational databases in terms of overall data model structure. Understanding of query languages like SQL is a bonus
• Knowledge of common data formats like XML, JSON.
Education and Experience
SC Cleared or Residency in the UK for the past 5 years
Experienced in consulting and ability to cope with pressured environments.
Demonstrable experience of working as a BA in large scale software development projects over a number of full lifecycle deliveries
Working knowledge of Law Enforcement domain or security services gained through projects worked in this sector
