We're seeking an experienced Power Systems Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power distribution and transmission infrastructure, with expertise in UK Grid standards.
What you'll be doing:
- Design of power distribution and transmission infrastructure
- Expertise in power protection systems design and testing
Proficient in power systems analysis including:
- Load flow
- Thermal constraints
- Voltage analysis
Strong understanding of electrical equipment:
- Switchgear
- Substation equipment
- Overhead cables
Specific experience in substation design up to UK Grid Supply Point (GSP) level – 132kV
Skilled in protection relay settings
- Familiarity with real-time systems in a power distribution context
- Hands-on experience in physical implementation of connections and reinforcement
Knowledge of network planning applications such as:
- DigSilent PowerFactory
- Protection design toolsets
- Substation design toolsets
Prepare technical reports compliant with UK Grid codes
What experience you'll bring:
Minimum 5 years’ experience across the above areas
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Master’s degree or PhD in Power Systems Engineering (ideal)
