What you'll be doing:

As a Technical Security Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing secure AWS-based solutions for our cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with DevOps and engineering teams to define and architect solutions that adhere to best security practices. This is a strategic role that requires a strong understanding of AWS architecture, security products, and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement AWS-based security architectures for multi-tier applications, microservices, and serverless environments, with a strong focus on security by design.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define security architecture for cloud services, ensuring alignment with security policies and best practices.
  • Provide expert guidance on AWS security products and services, including IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, CloudTrail, Macie, VPN, and more.
  • Lead design reviews and provide documentation such as High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD).
  • Ensure the security of cloud-native applications through secure coding practices, threat modeling, and secure deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
  • Help refactor applications to Kubernetes on AWS, ensuring security principles are embedded in the design and deployment processes.
  • Advise on security compliance requirements and best practices in AWS environments.
  • Act as a security expert to troubleshoot and resolve issues, focusing on vulnerabilities and risks within the AWS ecosystem.

What experience you'll bring:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS architecture, security products, and cloud services.
  • Strong expertise in multi-tier architecture, microservices, and serverless solutions, including Kubernetes and containerization services on AWS.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS security services such as IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, CloudWatch, and others.
  • Proven experience in software or infrastructure engineering for public cloud environments (specifically AWS).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and associated tools.
  • Ability to work closely with DevOps teams and engineering to define security architecture and drive solutions.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and securing containerized applications in a cloud-native environment.
  • Practitioner-level skills in cloud security with a focus on hands-on experience with AWS security tools.
  • Strong solution architecture background, particularly within cloud and security domains.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with designing and reviewing AWS environments and producing detailed documentation (HLD, LLD).
  • Expertise in security and compliance best practices in AWS, and familiarity with regulatory standards and frameworks.
  • Experience with non-AWS security technologies such as vulnerability management, SIEM, PAM, EDR, IDPS, Firewalls, Threat Intelligence, DLP, Pen Testing, etc.
  • AWS certifications (Preferred):
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
    • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator

 

We also work within Public Sector clients where UK Gov. Defence Vetting to such as SC is required, as such you hold or be eligible to hold UK Gov vetting
