The Sector Solutions Director - Technology will be the senior technology leader within the NTT DATA Insurance team with primary responsibility for delivering technology transformation, enterprise architecture and supporting business development activities for strategic client (s) in Life Insurance, Pensions and Asset Management sector.
The role will provide end-to-end technical leadership to a strategic client of NTT DATA.
It includes thought leadership and constructive challenge, ensuring that technology strategy, architecture and delivery remain aligned to client’s business objectives, target operating model, risk appetite and regulatory obligations.
Working across different divisions within the client organisation, the role will connect technology decisions to measurable business outcomes, encourage adoption of the new product-centric operating model and help client identify and scale opportunities arising from AI, automation, cloud, data, cyber security and emerging technologies.
The role will also act as CTO for NTT DATA’s Life & Pensions sub-sector, using market insight and delivery experience to shape propositions, support strategic client conversations and develop new business opportunities
What you'll be doing:
Client Technology Leadership:
Act as a core member of the NTT DATA account management team for a flagship Insurance client, providing technical direction across transition, transformation and ongoing service evolution.
Work with client’s technology leadership, Enterprise Architecture, Product Owners, CISO function and Business Units Technology leaders to define and maintain the target technology vision, architecture principles and transformation roadmap.
Ensure consistency and integration across Service Operations, Digital Workplace, Cloud, Infrastructure, Networks, Security, Tech4Tech (Software and tools), Observability, AI and automation.
Provide independent technical challenge on investment decisions, delivery priorities, architectural choices, dependencies and transformation risks.
Maintain alignment between strategic intent and delivery execution, ensuring that transformation is embedded from the outset rather than deferred until after transition.
Represent NTT DATA in relevant executive, architecture, product, innovation and transformation governance forums.
Client Business Unit Engagement and Thought Leadership
Build trusted relationships across client’s Business Units leadership, understanding their strategies, customer priorities, regulatory requirements and technology needs.
Translate business-unit challenges into practical technology opportunities, co-created roadmaps, pilots and scalable services.
Bring external insight from NTT DATA’s global practices, research capability, strategic partners and wider insurance client base.
Lead horizon scanning across AI, agentic automation, cloud, platform engineering, digital workplace, cyber security, data and emerging insurance technologies.
Communicate complex technology topics clearly to executive, business and technical stakeholders, articulating benefits, risks, trade-offs and investment requirements.
Innovation, Value and Technical Assurance
Lead the identification, prioritisation and governance of innovation initiatives, including use of NTT DATA’s transformation and innovation investments.
Establish clear success criteria for pilots and ensure proven capabilities are industrialised, adopted and scaled across L&G.
Promote reusable architectures, standard patterns and a “design once and well” approach to reduce complexity, duplication and technical debt.
Ensure security, operational resilience, sustainability, regulatory compliance and evidence-based assurance are embedded into technical decision-making.
Link technology roadmaps to measurable outcomes including cost reduction, service improvement, resilience, adoption, productivity and speed to value.
Life & Pensions sector related responsibilities:
Define and communicate the technology vision and priority themes for NTT DATA’s Insurance sub-sector.
Shape differentiated insurance propositions, reference architectures, reusable assets and market-facing thought leadership.
Support opportunity qualification, solution strategy, executive client engagement and technical assurance for major pursuits.
Connect account insight, global capability, partner ecosystems and market trends to create relevant propositions for insurers.
Support the development of pipeline, client relationships and strategic opportunities while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and intellectual-property controls.

What experience you'll bring:
Technical expertise in designing and implementing technology programs that includes Infrastructure, Service Management, Cloud, Network, Cybersecurity, Hybrid Cloud and Digital Workplace functions.
Proven experience in leading enterprise architecture and solution architects and ownership of enterprise-wide technology solution delivery
Good understanding of the Life Insurance, Pensions and Asset Management industry sector
Strong understanding of working with partners (hyperscalers, ISVs, other SI partners)
Experience of pre-sales and solution development during sales cycle
Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
A collaborative and proactive approach in a fast-moving, matrix environment
Preferred Experience
Experience of working for IT service delivery companies and managing multiple internal different teams to deliver unified, coherent solution for clients
Knowledge of Life Insurance, Pensions and Asset Management industry
Leading design and delivery of large-scale enterprise technology solutions
