The team you'll be working with:
The purpose of the Director of Operations role is to lead a team in order to:
- Deliver seamless business operations across the business for efficient performance
- Manage Business Operations Systems, data, insight and analytics
- Manage Sales Operations
- Manage utilisation, satisfaction of staffing requirements and bench
- Manage staffing supply & demand across the business for optimum capacity management including both in-year capacity management and strategic resource management
- Manage Operational support for service Lines
Actively identify and facilitate productivity and efficiency opportunities
What you'll be doing:
Leadership:
- Lead and manage the UK Business Operations team
Data, Insight, Business Systems and Operations
- Overall responsibility for time management – i.e. ensuring that all staff in the business area / Division book to the correct time codes and submit timesheets on time
- Overall responsibility to lead a team in order to provide the business with workforce insights and analytics
Sales Operations
- Manage Sales Forecasts (working closely with finance, BMs)
- Model Sales and workforce and anticipated revenue scenarios
- Ensure that opportunities progress through the pipeline effectively and efficiently, and identify opportunities to increase our conversion rate and shorten our sales cycle.
- Establish and champion a common sales culture across NTT DATA UK’s sales teams, driving account plans, pipeline reviews, bid workshops and other activities as necessary.
Workforce Planning
- Overall responsibility for capacity management for the business, including both in-year capacity management and strategic resource management
- Work in partnership with SL Heads to manage and integrate strategic workforce planning requirements into capacity & capability management
- Recruitment requirements, definition and planning
- Supporting major projects through their lifecycle
Staff Resourcing
- Overall responsibility for resource management business-wide
- Bench Management
- Contractor management
- Ensuring successful SL staff onboarding
SL Operations
- Financial forecasting & Budget
- Ensure internal stakeholders (finance, HR BP’s, staffing team) are working in close alignment with each other for full integration for end to end process
- SL Operational Hygiene
Vision & Values. Act as a champion and role model for the NTT DATA UK Vision & Values. Working closely with the Business unit lead/Service Line Head to ensure that people practices are effective in embedding and reinforcing the Company values.

- Experience and knowledge of process improvement techniques and proven experience of enhancing business performance through operational efficiency
- Experience of understanding business requirements, translating into appropriate solutions and delivering within budget/timescales
- Ability to develop comprehensive and complex operational and strategic plans
- Analysis & Action
- Ability to interpret complex data and provide analytical insight into business reporting
- Can make evaluative judgments of both factual and qualitative information drawn from a variety of sources
- Understanding of systems governance

- Experience of setting up or running a business operations and/or resourcing team
- Has an excellent awareness of how to integrate, set targets, and co-ordinate activity across business units/work streams
