The team you'll be working with:

As part of our continuous growth, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Salesforce Technical Lead to join our UKI Salesforce practice in London, focusing on clients in the Public Sector Domain.

Salesforce Technical Lead, delivering complex, production‑quality Salesforce solutions across the full development lifecycle, from discovery and design through build, test, deployment, and live support.

Ideally experienced in public sector delivery, operating within structured governance, assurance, and security constraints, and comfortable working within Agile delivery models.

A strong communicator and engineering leader, capable of engaging effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into clear technical solutions, and providing accurate estimates, delivery forecasts, and clear status updates throughout the lifecycle.

Highly motivated with a proactive problem‑solving mindset, able to identify issues early, drive resolution, and actively manage technical and delivery risks to protect quality, timelines, and outcomes. Demonstrates a strong personal commitment to engineering excellence, code quality, and continuous improvement.

Hands‑on contributor with a proven track record of leading by example, supporting design elaboration, conducting peer reviews, mentoring junior developers, and driving consistent standards across teams and environments.

 

Note: NPPV3 clearance is required. Candidates must confirm whether they currently hold, or are willing to undergo, NPPV3 clearance, and provide confirmation of any current or previous SC clearance.

 

What you'll be doing:

Engineering Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead and contribute to the design and build of scalable, secure Salesforce solutions, ensuring alignment to architectural standards and best practices.
  • Provide clear technical leadership, supporting solution design, breaking down complex requirements, and guiding implementation approaches.
  • Own and contribute to accurate estimation of development effort, proactively managing dependencies, assumptions, and delivery risks.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with delivery leads, product owners, and stakeholders, providing progress updates, risks, and mitigation actions.

Quality & Problem Solving

  • Drive a strong quality‑first engineering culture, ensuring solutions are well‑designed, testable, maintainable, and production‑ready.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues early, escalating risks appropriately and proposing pragmatic, value‑focused solutions.
  • Actively contribute to peer code reviews, ensuring consistency, performance, security, and maintainability standards are met.
  • Support continuous improvement of development practices, tooling, and ways of working.

Collaboration & Mentoring

  • Work closely with architects, testers, Dev/DevOps, and product teams to ensure end‑to‑end delivery success.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, supporting skills development, knowledge sharing, and technical confidence.
  • Contribute positively to Agile ceremonies, design workshops, and planning sessions, helping teams deliver predictably and transparently.

 

What experience you'll bring:

  • Familiarity with public sector regulations, compliance (e.g., GDPR, FOIA), and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of common public sector challenges: legacy systems, citizen engagement, case management, grants, licensing.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce particularly Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Public Sector Solutions.
  • Strong grasp of Data Cloud, MuleSoft, OmniStudio, and Agentforce for automation and integration.
  • Experience with integration technologies, master data management, and familiarity with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Ability to analyse, design, and optimize business processes through technology and integration.
  • Demonstrated experience guiding customers and project teams in adopting emerging technologies for business use cases.
  • 7+ years Salesforce platform experience
  • Proven experience leading technical delivery on enterprise Salesforce programmes
  • Deep expertise in Apex, LWC, integration architecture, and data modelling
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce development patterns and governor limits
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (e.g., Copado, Gearset, Git-based workflows)
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with ERP, data platforms, or external systems
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Application Architect

  • Balances hands-on engineering with strategic technical leadership
  • Drives quality and delivery discipline across teams
  • Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills; ability to rapidly learn new technologies.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce AppExchange products and implementation experience preferred.
  • Ability to design secure solutions, particularly within high-profile public sector environments, and handle security requirements effectively.
  • Competence in leading design sessions and presenting design options to clients.
  • Extensive experience with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Clearance: Security Clearance will be required for this role. Candidates to confirm if they have / are willing to be cleared. Please also provide confirmation of current or previous SC clearance.
