What you'll be doing:
- Leading large-scale, complex, technology programmes (£30M+) for central government clients
- Managing end-to-end delivery including planning, execution, monitoring and control
- Leading large cross-discipline teams across multiple discrete projects, including the implementation of structured development and performance management for the team such as objective setting, regular reviews, feedback and training
- Implementation of appropriate programme management methodologies, ensuring that the project teams conform to appropriate governance
- Building and maintaining excellent senior client relationships - achieving strong customer satisfaction and feedback
- Collaborating closely with Client Partners and senior leadership to drive business growth
- Proactively managing risks, issues and dependencies, controlling change, quality and configuration
- Implementing appropriate KPIs and monitoring/controlling performance to achieve them
- Programme budgetary control and contract financial performance management
- Identification, procurement and management of securing suitably qualified and experienced resources and subcontractors to achieve programme delivery
- Contract commercial negotiations
- Building a culture within the team of continuous learning and improvement
- Ensuring that established project governance and assurance mechanisms are applied and that accurate reporting and data on programme performance is provided to all relevant stakeholders
What experience you'll bring:
- A track record of successfully leading complex programmes for central government clients, with values exceeding £30m and clients at SCS1
- Leading distributed, virtual, teams and ensuring effective collaboration with other, 3rd party, client-side teams
- Advanced stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and conflict management skills
- Highly developed ability to manage multiple project risks dealing with uncertainty, whilst being proactive and forward looking
- Familiarity with delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scaled Agile and MSP
- Commercial acumen in pricing models and contracting methods
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement and security constraints
- Confident working with central government processes and methods, including the GDS Service Standard and Technical Code of Practice
